RYDI launch journal
Your motorcycle could do more than sit in the garage
You love your bike. That does not mean you can ride it every day.
RYDI's idea is simple: connect owners with riders who want to rent locally, while giving owners a say in the rate, availability and handover. We are preparing for March 2027 and inviting owners across BC to start the conversation now.
Start with a useful listing
Include clear photos of your actual motorcycle, its make and model, your town, riding requirements and an honest description of its condition. Explain where pickup happens and whether you offer delivery. A rider should understand the bike before requesting it.
You choose the daily rate
RYDI's calculator uses your daily rate to estimate the bike charge for the selected time. You can also set optional discounts for rentals of at least three, seven or fourteen full days. Think about maintenance, wear and the time you spend on handovers before choosing a price. A listing is an opportunity to earn, not a guarantee of income.
Check rental use before handing over the keys
Having ordinary ICBC insurance is not, by itself, confirmation that paid peer-to-peer rentals are covered. The appropriate rental arrangement must be confirmed before the motorcycle is approved. Start with ICBC's peer-to-peer vehicle rental information and discuss your specific motorcycle and use with your broker.
Plan the practical details
- Choose pickup and return times you can reliably handle.
- Keep condition photos and maintenance information ready.
- Make delivery availability and charges explicit.
- Review the final owner agreement, protection terms and payment arrangements before accepting rentals.
